Emotional Connections
The work to make emotional connections to past events
is much more difficult if put off until we are adults. The
sypmptoms from our childhood emotional pain can reflect
in our body in a myriad of ways. Constipation, which is
sen as something not life threatening, represents energy
that is blocked. Many people can go through life with seemingly
minor ailments; however, these ailments, when looked at
in a holistic manner, can reveal a pattern that reveals
a deeper problem.
People will tend to put up with, or put
off acting on, symptoms, which seems minor until the pain
or symptoms become so inconvenient that they are forced
to deal with the symptom. Problems that seem to repeat,
or never seem to go away, are indications the body has not
processed the emotional pain thoroughly. Emotional symptoms
can manifest as painful areas of the body that, when touched,
rubbed, or pressed, are very painful. Often times during
the treatment the patient will cry or get angry or even
laugh, which represents a release of emotional and pyhsical
pain. Once the emotion has been released, the pain subsides
and the body begins to heal the area that has been under
tension since the emotional pain was deposited in the area.
The patient is then free to move on to the next emotional
hold. A saying in the holistic community is "we are
like onions," peeling away layers of pain until we
become pain free, physically and emotionally.
